Corrie star Kym Marsh adopts RSPCA puppy after seeing heart-breaking story on This Morning
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has come to the rescue of a puppy named Oliver after seeing a call for him re-housed in the ITV show this morning.
The actress said she fell in love with Oliver, a 12-week-old retriever cross, the minute I saw him in the program, which was abandoned with the dogs during the Christmas period.
Kim said: “I was off work and we were watching the program and I felt sorry for all dogs, but little Oliver walking and was so cold in the study, which melted the heart.”
Oliver was found in a safe container outside a pet shop in Surrey just after Christmas and was taken to Chobham Millbrook Animal Center.
Chief Inspector Simon Osborne appeared on the TV show with Oliver and Staffordshire cross dog called Saffy who was abandoned on Boxing Day.
Immediately after the show, dog lover Kym Marsh contact the program desperate to talk to the Humane Society and Oliver provide a new home.
The RSPCA agreed to visit your home to ensure that it would be appropriate for a puppy, and Sunday, Kym and her partner, ex-Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, visited Millbrook to meet Oliver and introduce him to his seven year old Chihuahua named Charlie.
Kym added: “The RSPCA does an outstanding job not only dogs but all animals and am very happy to support the society and Oliver take him home that he deserves.”
Saffy the dog, who also appears in this morning is still available for rehousing in Millbrook.
The RSPCA investigates complaints of cruelty to animals and animals returning home through local branches.
