Diana Ross

Diana Ross was born on March 26, 1944 in Detroit to Fred Ross, a factory worker from Detroit, and his wife, Ernestine. Diana, along with his brothers and sisters, were raised in the Brewster housing project in Detroit.
In late 1950, Diana, and two other neighborhood children, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard formed a trio called The Primettes. She also worked after school as a cafeteria busgirl Hudson Department Store in Detroit.
While Diana was a student at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, is presented to the high school musical. His teacher says that although he had a great voice, it was nothing special, and was very disappointed. She was named the Best Dressed Girl in her class. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1962.
In the 1960s, Diana, Florence and Mary went to the offices of Motown Records in Detroit to get a recording contract. However, Berry Gordy, Motown founder and president, felt he had two young men refused to sign until they completed high school o. Then they returned to Motown, with their high school diplomas in hand, signed a recording contract, and its name was changed from the Primettes to The Supremes.

Enter the songwriting team of Lamont Dozier and brothers Brian and Eddie Holland, who had written the song Where Did Our Love Go. The Supremes were on top of the world of music. He was second in record sales in the 60’s, behind the Beatles. They appeared on numerous television shows, touring all over the world, and even appeared in the 1965 film, beach ball, where he sings the title
Surfer Boy song.
In 1970, Diana Ross left the Supremes perform a successful solo career. Although his first solo album was Reach Out and Touch someone’s hand. , But its sole next single, Is not No Mountain High Enough (a remake of the 1967 success of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell) was all the way to number one.

In 1972, seven years after she appeared in the film Beach Ball, Diana Ross was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in Lady Sings the Blues. Billy Dee Williams was his co-star. She played the junkie blues singer Billie Holliday. But he lost the Oscar to Liza Minnelli, who won for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in the film version of Cabaret.
In 1975, again co-starred with Billy Dee Williams in the film Mahogany. She played Tracy Chambers, an aspiring fashion designer from the ghetto of Chicago, went to Rome and becomes a successful fashion model.

Diana Ross has been married and divorced twice. In January ‘71, married Robert Ellis SiSilverstein in Las Vegas, and gave birth to three daughters: Rhonda Suzanne in 1971, Tracee (who stars in the comedy Girlfriends) and Chudney. They divorced in 1977. In 1993, it was confirmed that her eldest daughter Rhonda was fathered by Berry Gordy, Jr.;
In 1986 she married the Norwegian tycoon Arne Naess, in a spectacular ceremony in Switzerland. She had two children with him and Evan Ross, but that marriage also ended in divorce.
Diana also had trouble with the law as well. In 1999 he was detained at London’s Heathrow airport strike by security guards (the guard had touched the chest during a routine). In December 2002, was arrested in Arizona on charges of drunk driving.
In 2000, thirty years after leaving the Supremes, Diana Love Back organized touring with two other members of the Supremes of the ’70s; Scherrie Payne and Lynda Lawrence. Organizers initially contact Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, but he said no. But unfortunately, the return of Love Tour was a flop and was canceled after only a few.
Diana Ross, along with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli, has acted in all aspects of entertainment.
