Jason Bateman

Bateman was born in Rye, New York, son of Victoria, a flight attendant of Maltese heritage, and Kent Bateman, a film and television screenwriter, director and founder of a theater in Hollywood. His older sister is Justine Bateman of Family Ties fame.
Bateman began acting in 1981, playing James Cooper Ingalls in the television series, Little House on the Prairie. He appeared in the episode of Knight Rider third season “Lost Knight” in 1984. He won the teen idol status in the mid-1980s in programs like Silver Spoons, It’s Your Move, and especially Valerie (later renamed Valerie’s Family and then Hogan Family after Valerie Harper left the series) and became the Directors Guild of America’s youngest Director once when he was in charge of three episodes of The Hogan Family at the age of 18. After the series ended, his career slowed down for almost a decade. During this period, played a role in four series – Simon, Chicago Sons, George & Leo, and some of my best friends – none of which lasted more than one season. In 2002, she landed the role as the brother of Thomas Jane’s playful character in the film The Sweetest Thing.
In 2002, Bateman was cast as Michael Bluth on the sitcom Arrested Development. Although critically acclaimed, the series never achieved high ratings. It ended in a final two-hour series (four episodes in a row) on 10 February 2006, compared to broadcast the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics 2006. Bateman won several awards for his work on the series, including a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. He was also nominated in 2005 for the Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
In 2004, he appeared in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and ESPN 8 ( “The Ocho”), commentator Pepper Brooks, and Starsky & Hutch as Kevin, business partner Vince Vaughn’s. Bateman reunited with Vaughn in 2006 in The Break-Up, and also commented on the 2004 Democratic National Convention for the majority report with Arrested Development co-star David Cross. In 2006, he appeared as a guest star on TV’s “Scrubs as Sutton, a garbage man with a vicious band of ostriches as pets, and a former lawyer Rupert” Rip “Reed in Smokin ’Aces. In 2007, he appeared in The Kingdom, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium and Juno, where she again worked with his co-stars Jennifer Garner Kingdom, and his Arrested Development co-star Michael Cera. In 2008, he starred with Will Smith and Charlize Theron in the superhero movie Hancock.
Bateman, co-starred with Ben Affleck in the excerpt from the 2009 film written and directed by Mike Judge. On 15 October 2008, TV Guide reported that Bateman had signed a co-star in Couples Retreat, a comedy chronicle of four couples involved in therapy sessions at a resort on a tropical island. Kristen Bell will play his wife.
In 2009, Bateman became a regular voice actor for the short-lived Fox comedy series Sit Down, Shut Up Larry Littlejunk expressed, the gym teacher and one staff member can be taught. The series premiered on April 19, 2009, airing its last episode in September. Kenan Thompson, Kristin Chenoweth, Will Forte, Tom Kenny, Nick Kroll, Cheri Oteri, Will Arnett and Henry Winkler were the other main cast members.
Bateman will reprise his role as Michael Bluth in 2010 in Arrested Development film. All the main cast are reprising their roles. It is a film directed by Ron Howard, executive producer and uncredited narrator of the show, and will be written by show creator Mitchell Hurwitz.
